This policy includes cookies and similar technologies. Our website accepts inquiries but does not process online purchases. Payments are handled separately through QuickBooks.
Information you provide
When you contact us, we collect the information you submit, such as your name, email address, phone number, company or organization, project location, product interests and message. Depending on the form, you may also provide application details, estimated volume or research needs. Media inquiries can include your publication and deadline.
Forms also record context such as the page or product that led to your inquiry so we can route your message and understand your needs. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information that is not needed to answer your question.
Employment inquiries
If you send a resume or employment inquiry to hr@wakefieldbiochar.com, we use the information you provide to evaluate employment opportunities and communicate with you. Authorized HR personnel handle these inquiries.
How we use your information
We use your information to respond to inquiries, discuss products and projects, handle sample and technical requests, and maintain customer service and sales records. Phone follow-up is for customer service and sales you request. Media inquiries go to our media agency, Rev.
If you choose to receive marketing emails, we use your contact details and stated interests to send relevant news, product information and updates. Submitting an inquiry does not require joining our email list. We also use website and email engagement information to understand what is useful, improve our content and measure marketing results.
Service providers and advertising partners
We use service providers to operate the website and handle communications. Razor Rank provides hosting, website and SEO services. Forms built with Gravity Forms store submissions in our WordPress website database. Microsoft 365 supports email communications, Monday supports customer and sales records, Mailchimp manages marketing emails, and Chatbase provides CharBot. Relevant information is available to authorized Wakefield personnel and providers supporting these activities.
We do not share our mailing lists with partners for their own marketing. Our website uses advertising tools described below that allow information about website visits and interactions to reach advertising platforms. Those platforms may combine it with information from other sources under their own privacy policies.

Marketing emails
Mailchimp tracks email opens and link clicks to help us measure campaign engagement and improve future messages. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or contact us at info@wakefieldbiochar.com. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from responding to an inquiry you submit.
CharBot conversations
CharBot is an automated assistant provided through Chatbase, which processes and stores messages and responses. Authorized marketing and customer service staff can review conversations to improve the assistant and our website.
CharBot directs sales inquiries to our contact form. Personal information you choose to type becomes part of the conversation. Please do not enter payment details, passwords or sensitive personal information.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies, browser storage and tracking pixels support site features, remember preferences, measure website use and support advertising. They may collect IP addresses, browser and device details, pages visited, referral information and interactions with content or ads.
Some technologies support basic site functions, security and forms. Others support optional features such as CharBot and the embedded Google Map. Embedded videos and other third-party content may send information to their providers when loaded.
Google Analytics helps us understand website use. Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag help us measure advertising results and reach previous visitors with ads on other platforms. These services may connect activity on our site with other activity or an account you hold with the provider.

Clear Preference removes the saved choice so you can choose again. Your inquiry can still be submitted without accepting optional cookies or signing up for marketing emails.
Your preference applies to the browser and device you use. You may need to choose again after clearing browser storage or on another device. You can also manage cookies in your browser. Declining optional services may prevent features such as the map or CharBot from loading.
Retention
We keep personal information as needed to respond to inquiries, maintain customer relationships, operate our business and meet legal or recordkeeping obligations. We review information periodically and delete or anonymize it when it is no longer needed, subject to applicable requirements.
We may archive inactive marketing contacts and keep information needed to honor unsubscribe requests or document consent. Archiving retains information; it does not delete it. Financial, contractual, quality and applicant records may need different retention periods.
Security
We use individual staff accounts and access controls to help protect personal information, and remove access as part of offboarding. No electronic transmission or storage system is completely secure.

Our website is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our website, contact us so we can review and address it.
